[US] Bricktober Harry Potter minifigures: One day only
Posted by Huw,
The latest Barnes and Noble email newsletter provides information about how to obtain 5005254 Harry Potter Minifigure Collection in the USA.
It will be available for one day only, 17th November, and will be free with LEGO purchases over $75 in B&N stores.
Thanks to GoZachPariseWild for the news

1 day only?! Wow... It will be a good way for B&N to sell many Lego sets this chosen day, and 75 is not a little money. It's quite vicious isn't it? Or let's say cunning. I imagine that there will be a rush from fans to be sure to get the exclusive minifigs, and am then happy to not be a HP collectioner. Good luck to you all who are...
I'm being more and more curious how long it takes until this minifig craze fades away.
Security stickers on their boxes, I'm curious how easy they are to remove.
@ SirZed, once they stop making them ? lol
Harsh!
Has anyone heard if this years four sets are coming to the UK at all?
What bullshit.
Potentially dealing with a crowd on a Saturday at a bookstore to get some toys isn't a way to spend part of a weekend in my opinion. I (over)paid $30 on Bricklink for them - problem solved. Damn you TRU for your poor management! :-)
Yuck. $75? That's an insane minimum purchase price, especially at B&N and not the Lego Store. It bodes well for those who have holiday shopping to do and need a lot of Lego. But I have already finished my Christmas shopping, and don't want to spend $75 on myself a month before Christmas.
Not to mention, I work that day! Gaahhhhh!
^^^^ Fairly reliable information from TLG itself, is that these sets won't be available in the UK.
Thanks for the info @GoZachPariseWild! There’s a Wild and Lego fan here, awesome?!
“Did we just become best friends? Yup!”
Also, no way I’m paying that much for those figures. Good luck to everyone else trying to get them!
Do they give great sets away in countries where Lego sales are flagging? Maybe we need to buy less in the Uk so they start giving away great freebies again. I’m buying less and selling more. Moving 35 large boxes full of Lego on our recent house move and then into storage was not fun! I was lured into spending £85 to get the Diagon Alley set a few days ago though... oops! Not even a HP fan! Addicted.
I agree, a little annoying, but at least they're available in the first place. Better than not having any chance of getting them.
I called my two of local B&N . One was completely sold out on the first day it came out and don't expect to have some available for the event. The second one has 5 on hand and cannot be purchased by itself since it's part of the event. They too don't know if they will have more come in.
I just ordered my brothers Christmas gifts, I should've held off! Then again, I have no idea where the nearest Barns and Nobles actually is, but I remember one being just a four hour drive away.
Hope the Avengers pack doesn't go a similar route!
@FlyingSioux happy to discuss both hockey and LEGO at anytime! Since the Harry Potter pack is the only one I don’t want, this is an easy pass for me. I think I’ll stay home and watch the game instead.
Does anyone know if these will be available online? I'm two hours from the nearest B&N.
This seems very poorly planned by B&N, and their execution was even worse. Some stores sell as many as they want at 7.99 each, most stores have none, and then the promotion comes a month later w/one free set for over 75.00 spent - but again most stores are out-of-stock. My closest B&N is about a 3 hour drive, which I griped about when the last article about these popped up. Thank goodness, or a fellow Brickset user actually, for taking the time to send me a message asking if I was interested in buying a copy. Which I happily did for 20.00, far less than going price on BrickLink. Also far cheaper than all that gas and arguing w/my wife about going on a 3 hour LEGO treasure trip - she really thought I was off my rocker for that last one lol. So best of luck to all in getting your hands on these, I'm so glad to have them. They're all wonderful prints and include awesome pieces!
Kudos to B&N for hanging on for dear life but I wish they would embrace e-commerce. With the success of things like instacart and amazon, they should realize people mostly don't WANT to go to the store.
^the book store is one of the few stores I do want to go into. I like the atmospbere, but also like to thumb through books before I buy them. Now lego there is a bit rough since not a huge selection. This is crazy to have to figure out.
Has there been any definite word on whether or not the Lego Shop online (or in stores) will have the remaining sets. I really only want the Avengers one
@peterjohn0 Just received LEGO catalog with Black Friday sleeve inside that shows the Ninjago Bricktober is available Nov. 23 at LEGO stores only, free with purchase of over $50.00.
Are there still reports of being able to purchase it for $8 in store?
Picked this up yesterday. Wasn't available to buy separately, but was given away with a qualifying $75 purchase.
